Poison – Family Math Game

On your turn you can decide to remove one or two objects. Then your partner does the same. Play until all objects have been taken. The last object to be taken is considered poison, and whoever gets stuck with it loses.

Play several times and try to come up with a winning strategy for avoiding the poison.

Extensions:
-Increase the number of objects you start with. How does that change the game? How does that change your strategy?

-Change the rules so that you can remove more pieces at once on your turn. How does that change the game or your strategy?

-Turn the poison into a treat. Whoever gets the last piece wins the game. How does that affect how you play?
